Care for creation -- including the proper use and disposal of goods -- is more than a slogan! It is a requirement of our Catholic faith as Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI, and most recently, Pope Francis in Laudato Si’ have reminded us.
In our daily lives, we can play a meaningful role in caring for God’s creation by evaluating how we dispose of items no longer useful to us. Many items probably could benefit someone else, and most spent or expired items can be disposed of outside of a landfill.
