Each year Christ the King Parish partners with 6 charities to help fund their ministries. Participating is easy:
Choose a card displayed on the Cathedral wall and follow the instructions. You can drop off unwrapped gifts at the church office. Or,
Donate through the links below (Clicking the name will take you to the donation page). Your donation will be given to the group for them to purchase gift cards or other items them may need.
The cost of maintaining and repairing our parish is quite expensive. Another Brick in the Wall gives parishioners the opportunity to donate funds that will specifically be apiled to any "unfunded" special project that may arise at CTK. Although this beneficiary does not provide immediate feel good moment as donating to other holiday charities, the perpetual need for continual care is imperative to the property so that all can ejoy the Holy Spirit within the community at Christ the King.
The One Fund provides financial relief for individuals and families suffering from a short-term financial hardship and is geared toward registered parishioners and other Catholic families within the Diocese first, and situational needs to the community when other options have been exhausted. Some uses for the One Fund includ cold weather housing for families, elderly, and medically fragile through referral from the Catholic Action Center, emergency car or home repair, utility bills and food.
With 50% of registered parishioners at the age of senior status, coupled with the rising cost of food and increased food security, this year we at CTK wish to provide a food basket to 50 CTK seniors during the holidays.
St. Gianna's Hope Chest (See Gift List on Card in Church or contact leaders below)*
Saint Gianna’s Hope Chest was created in response to a nationwide initiative on behalf of the USCCB's call to Walk with Moms in Need. We are here to serve, to refer, to provide resources, and to build relationships with pregnant and parenting women. Whether she is experiencing a pregnancy as a single mother, facing a devastating diagnosis regarding the life of her child, or is completely overwhelmed at the thought of having another child at her stage of
life, we want to be her village. Every man and woman has dignity, as we have been created in the Image and Likeness of God. Let us honor that dignity by Walking with Moms — celebrating with her in her joys and supporting her through her difficulties and challenges.
Holy Trinity Parish in Harlan KY (See Gift List on Card in Church or contact leaders below)*
The Giving Tree is an outreach program Holy Trinity has been offering their Harlan community for over thirty years. For many yeasrs Harlan was a booming coal town. The economic dowturn of 2008 and the decreasing usage of coal as fuel have left many of its residents living at or below the poverty level. Fr. Terrence distributes the clothing to children in need. The toys are used in the Toy Store which is held on the Saturday morning before Christmas at the Church. Parents and guardians pay $2 to enter and they usually receive two new and 2 "used" toys as well as other items (socks, glvoes, coats, etc.) Most years they serve between 250-300 people, depending upon donations. Being sister parishes, Fr. Terrence prays for Christ the King every Sunday.
